Italy in early June... the hordes of summer tourists haven't yet arrived and the weather is perfect with average daily highs in the upper 70's and lower 80's with plenty of sunshine. You'll spend three nights in the in the Eternal City of Rome, visit to the Umbrian hill town of Orvieto, three nights in Florence to explore the renaissance and Tuscan countryside, and 2 nights in dazzling Venice. Truly the trip of a lifetime. From your hotel in Rome you'll be able to explore all the city has to offer, from your base in Florence you'll visit the the heart of the renaissance and the Tuscan towns of Siena and San Gimignano, and from your base in Venice you'll enjoy all the splendors the city has to offer!
$ 2689 includes all transfers in Italy, three nights Rome in the centrally located 4 star Massimo D'Azeglio Hotel, three nights in the 4 star NIL Hotel Florence with easy access to the city, and two nights in the BW Plus Bologna right across from the main entrance to Venice with breakfasts daily, a 1st Class train ride from Florence to Venice, an orientation tour of Rome upon arrival. half day guided tour of the Roman Colosseum and Forum, half day guided tour in Orvieto, full day guided tour of Siena and San Gimignano, and a pre-departure meeting in Easton before we go. So much is included in this trip! Doug Yanders will be your group leader for this spectacular adventure. Prices are based on double occupancy and do not include international airfare to Rome and your return from Venice. There is a single supplement fee of $749. Airfare is not included, but the group can/will travel on the same flight, so departure from PA/NJ and arrival in Rome can be coordinated. There are multiple reasonably priced flights available, and suggested flights will be provided. Assistance in purchasing your tickets can be provided. Round trip transportation from Easton to the airport will be available for an additional charge. A $100 surcharge will apply if the group falls below 25 participants. Reserve your space! Rome needs no introduction... The Coliseum, the ancient Roman Forum, The Pantheon, The Vatican, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the piazzas, the food, the wine and the twisting cobblestone alleys and hidden restaurants of the Trastevere neighborhood on the banks of the Tiber River. After your orientation tour upon arrival you will have plenty of free time to explore all these wonders on your own or join us for an optional tour of the Vatican. A tour of the Colosseum and Forum is included. Orvieto is an often overlooked gem in the Umbrian countryside famous for it's ceramics and Orvieto Classico white wine. You'll have a nice stop for lunch and a guided visit to this beautiful city on the way from Rome to Florence. Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance, home to the famous Duomo and Michelangelo's David. Spend your day wandering the city or take an optional guided tour of the famous Uffizi Galleries, home to one of the best collections of renaissance art in the world, and the former offices of the powerful Medici family. From Florence you'll visit the charming Tuscan hill towns San Gimignano with it's stunning medieval stone towers, and Siena with it's famous central piazza. Venice, another town that needs no introduction. You'll arrive in style on a first class train from Florence that drops you off at your hotel, right across from the main entrance to Venice! Visit St Mark's Cathedral, wander along the canals, or take a gondola ride! You'll have plenty of time to explore. Itinerary
Day 0 Friday May 30 – The shuttle will leave from the park n ride in Easton to take you to the airport for your overnight flight to Rome. Day 1 Saturday May 31 – Arrival in Rome. Orientation tour to Rome on your private coach ride from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure. You'll be staying at a great 4 star hotel within walking distance to all the major sights. Overnight in the Massimo D'Azeglio Hotel Day 2 Sunday June 1 - After breakfast today you'll tour the famous Roman Colosseum and Forum. Absolutely breathtaking. The rest of the days is yours to explore this magical city. Overnight in the Massimo D'Azeglio Hotel. Day 3 Monday June 2 - After breakfast at the Hotel you'll have the entire day free at your leisure. So much to see and do! Optional tour to see the Vatican. Overnight in the Massimo D'Azeglio Hotel. Day 4 Tuesday June 3 – After breakfast you'll hop on your private coach and head to Florence. Stop halfway at Orvieto for lunch (not included) and a guided visit of this beautiful medieval Umbrian hill town. Arrive in Florence and the rest of the day is free. Overnight in the NIL Hotel Florence Day 5 Wednesday June 4 - After breakfast today, the day is free at your leisure to explore the sights and sounds of Florence. Optional half day guided tour of Florence with entrance to the Uffizi Galleries. Overnight in the NIL Hotel Florence Day 6 Thursday June 5 - Today you'll visit the charming Tuscan hill town of San Gimignano with it's stunning medieval stone towers, and Siena with it's famous central piazza. The evening is free at your leisure to enjoy all the Florence has to offer. Overnight in the NIL Hotel Florence Day 7 Friday June 6 - After breakfast board your first class train and arrive in Venice in style. You'll depart from your train right around the corner from your hotel, right across from the main entrance to Venice! Free evening to explore. Overnight in the BW Bologna Hotel Venice Mestre Day 8 Saturday June 7 - Free day in Venice. What to do? Wander the city. Soak it up. St Mark's? Gondola Ride? It's up to you. Optional half day guided tour to the islands of Murano and Burano to see the famous Murano Glass. Overnight in the BW Bologna Hotel Venice Mestre Day 9 Sunday June 8 - After breakfast today we say goodbye to Italy. Ciao for now!
